How to become a Champ selling groups to Oktoberfest

How to become a Champ selling groups to Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest for groups? Yes! Let us help you become a Champion!

Imagine a party with 368.000 visitors a day drinking 468.750 liters of beer (every day over 16 days) handed out by over 13.000 staff, with only 119.000 seats available. The largest tent (Hofbräuzelt has 11.000 seats). Yes. The Oktoberfest still is the largest party in the world. By far!

Of course preparation is the key word. In order to have a full overview, we have created an Ebook about the Oktoberfest. If you want to have "All you need to know about Oktoberfest 2018" you can download it here.

1. Is Oktoberfest still popular?

The number of visitors increased from 5,1 Mio in 1980 to approx. 6 Mio and has now been the same for years. But the demographic conditions have changed and nowadays 38% are women. The strongest growing segment - "groups of business folks" - our target group. You can also just ask your customers if they think a trip to Oktoberfest would be helping to escape the gray office walls and enjoy relaxed moments combined with great networking opportunities. We all know the answer. Times have changed - so has the O-Fest (or October Fest).

2. Event in the Event?

As the regular readers of this blog know, we are big fans of making an event in the event. The concept is simple and easy:

Your customer wants to invite his clients, prospects, leads and staff members  to a memorable event. And he fears that "memorable = expensive". Then you advise him to invite his group to an existing event like Oktoberfest - something special, and we help you to create his event within the event. Plenty of branding possibilities from the classics like wearables to special ones like beer mugs, your own branded beer etc.

It is also called the "Guerrilla Event Strategy".

3. Who is the target group?

The variety of clients goes from group travelers, bus groups and conference groups (maybe a good idea to hold the conference before visiting the Theresienwiese. The Oktoberfest is popular from young to old, leisure to business and it is easy to find a possible date as it is running over 16 days.

4. What´s the headache (and we don´t mean hangover)

Table reservation. Fix: We have table reservations in all major tents (still available on most days)

Hotel Rooms for a reasonable rate. Fix: We have room blocks in several hotels in and around Munich in various categories.

Program around the Beerfest. Fix: We have plenty of ideas and visits - depending on your clients' tastes and interests.

We would love to talk to you about how to get your Oktoberfest groups going:
