Salzburg is more than the City of Mozart and home of the Salzburg Festival. At our most important tourist attractions, not only are you able to experience Salzburg’s rich history, but there are also countless fascinating insights and surprising moments around practically every corner.

1st Day: Arrival to Salzburg and maybe a journey into the past

You reach the city al Lunchtime or in the afternoon and check-In at the booked hotel. Depending on arrival time we recommend a stroll through the city and maybe do a "time travel" and have Dinner at the same time. Walk thru Getreidegasse, pass by the relief of  St. Sebastian and see the horse-bath at Sigmundsplatz. Then walk along Salzach passing the last city gate before you enter the area of Mülln to reach the Augustinerbräu. Be ready for a time jump. The Müllnerbräu aka Augustiner was founded by (Augustiner)-monks in 1621. Still brewing after the old recipe, beer is only stored in oak barrels and consumed out of stone mugs. Either you enjoy a nice evening stroll back to the hotel or you take a taxi (which is very reasonable in Salzburg).

2nd Day: Dome Area - Kapitelplatz and Fortress

After breakfast, we walk through Getreidegasse and pass Mozart's birthplace (a permanent exhibition in the original apartment with items and instruments from his childhood as well as a lot of personal things). We continue to Residenzplatz and Mozartplatz and anther through the Dome Arches to Domplatz. Have a look into the Dome and continue to St. Peter and St. Peters graveyard with Mozart's family grave and the catacombs (secret churches during Roman times when Christianity was forbidden). Walk ca. 100m to the restaurant Stiegl - perfectly located with traditional food - and a stunning view over the city. Stiegl beer is the most common brew in Salzburg. After Lunch we recommend taking the Festungsbahn - a small train going up the city mountain directly into the castle. Explore the castle also inside with a tour or just enjoy the view and the exciting architecture.

When you want to leave the castle behind you can continue over the city mountain to the museum of modern art to enjoy the exhibition or just a refreshment in their cafe. From here you have two options - both are tempting. One is an elevator which goes through the mountain and you will come out at Sigmundsplatz Getreidegasse, or you can skip the elevator but take the way down to Mülln - and come out directly at the Agustinerbräu - where a cold beer will wait for you. Actually it is an adventure to eat here in the Agustiner as many local specialties are sold in little kiosks and you eat in shared plates Tapas style.

If you have been here already the day before and you want to try something different we can recommend and organize a nice dinner in a variety of exciting places.

Day 3: Schloß Hellbrunn & The other side of Salzburg

After breakfast, we start our tour to Schloß Hellbrunn. This place was built to be "unbelievable". And it still is. This was not a residence but a place for celebrations, a location for summer fun and recuperation. This spirit can be felt now just as much as 400 years ago. Especially the trick fountains are unique.

From Hellbrunn we can offer two options - going back to Salzburg city or continue to Berchtesgaden to see Hitler´s summer residence (Eagles Nest).
