Both booking types can be cancelled free of charge until the cancellation deadline. The only difference is what happens automatically if you do not decide in time.
Whether you create a reservation as an Option or as Confirmed — the room is reserved for your customer in both cases, and in both cases the rate's free cancellation deadline remains decisive. The only question is: what should happen if you do nothing?
| Option | Confirmed | |
|---|---|---|
| Reservation created? | Yes | Yes |
| What happens automatically? | Expires at the CXL deadline | Becomes a firm booking |
| Free cancellation possible? | Yes, until CXL deadline | Yes, until CXL deadline |
| Reminder emails? | Yes (7 / 3 / 1 working days before) | No — it is already firm |
| When to choose? | Customer still undecided | Customer has confirmed |
When you create a reservation as an Option, the room is reserved for your customer — but the booking is not yet firm. You have time until the cancellation deadline (CXL deadline) to decide:
When to use an Option? The customer wants to think it over · the customer is comparing other offers · you want to block the room before the final price OK from the customer.
The S-E-T-T Hub system automatically sends reminder emails to you and your agency team before the cancellation deadline:
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| 7 working days before | 1st reminder — "Please confirm or the option expires" |
| 3 working days before | 2nd reminder — urgent notice |
| 1 working day before | 3rd reminder — last call |
| CXL deadline | Automatic cancellation (if still an option) |
These emails have the subject "Reservation cancel reminder" — sender reservation@s-e-t-t.com. Please make sure this address does not end up in your spam filter.
With a Confirmed booking, the reservation is booked bindingly right away. You immediately receive a voucher and all booking confirmations — without further reminders.
